In March 1999, Roby Rogers, M.D., had a Near-Death Experience which
changed the way she looked at death and dying and the role of disease in
a person\'s life. It also changed the way she practices medicine and
influenced her in many other ways, which will be the focus of her talk.

Dr. Rogers was born in Portland, OR, and grew up in Boulder, CO. She
received her M.D. degree from the University of Colorado in Denver in
1987 and went on for further training to become a Pathologist. She was
the Clinical Pathology Residency Director, Assistant Professor of
Pathology/Laboratory Medicine, and the Medical Director of Transfusion
Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina until she settled
in Madison, WI, in 2001, where she is currently Associate Professor of
Pathology/Laboratory Medicine at the University of Madison Medical
School.
